In a school somewhere in the border region, a young teacher is trying to integrate Romani children into the classroom. But their families remain suspicious of education. The filmmakers have chosen a largely romantic view that does not penetrate beneath the surface. They have included numerous folklore examples, acting as the most attractive element. The real problems can thus only be imagined.

The story revolves a girl was born in a family where they do not wish for a female child. She aspired to be a civil servant but lacks family support except for her grandfather. However, her difficult time begins when she loses her grandfather.

Somehow overgrown dog Fík was devised by writer Rudolf Čechura and painted by painter Jiří Šalamoun. And because dogs have dreams too, Fik is also dreaming about something thrilling as well as funny. The entire series is voiced by actor Josef Dvořák. And what about is Fik dreaming? Perhaps about how he once played football, how he drove the car, how he spent Christmas and how he became captain of an ocean liner.

Perky young Nanette attempts to save the marriage of her uncle and aunt by untangling Uncle Jimmy from several innocent but ensnaring flirtations. Attempting one such unentanglement, Nanette enlists the help of theatrical producer Bill Trainor, who promptly falls in love with her. The same thing happens when artist Tom Gillespie is called on for help. But soon Uncle Jimmy's flirtations become too numerous, and Nanette's romances with Tom and Bill run into trouble.
